New Band - The 99's

Unfortunately the band 'Eight legs' whom I was originally going to use as the artist for my project, were signed by a record label during this process. Because I had already started planning my video, there was a possibility that I could have continued and gone ahead with 'Eight legs', however, I chose to start over as I feel I would gain more from sticking exactly to the course criteria and I feel as though this obstacle I have struck represents a real life scenario; there are bound to be plenty of situations in life where I am going to have to work around the problem in order to solve it and this example will give me good experience for these likely situations.

Due to the unexpected problems with the band I was originally going to use, I worked hard to find another band that met the criteria for my project. After some thorough research into a similar target audience as my original, I have found what I feel is the perfect band. This band is 'The 99's'

The song I will be using by this band is called '(what a night) to be alive'. I came across this band and their track on one of the above websites and after consuming thier music I immediately felt that they were the band for me.
Although somewhat similar in genre to my original song I was going to use, I feel that the song possesses a slightl more light 'sun kissed melody' feel. This genre is again extremely popular amongst the current UK teen market. The song, in my opinion, is quite alike to tracks from bands such as 'Noah and the whale', 'Foster the people' and 'Two door cinema club'. All of which have proven extremely successful in recent times within the UK. I also feel that some of the bands other songs that I have listened to strike an uncanny resemblence to 'The Beatles' - arguably the greatest band in history.
