Permission confirmation e-mail

When I decided that Eight Legs and there song, 'blood, sweat, tears' was going to be the song I was going to use for my music video, I contacted their management team as quickly as possible in order to gain confirmation that the band were unsigned and also ask for permission to use their song in my project.

Below you can see the e-mails to and from the management team of eight legs:

The swift response leads me to believe that the band are eager to gain as much publicity as possible because of their unsigned status. I like this striving attitude about the band and I am looking forward to working with their material for my project.

Music Video - Eight Legs, 'Blood Sweat Tears'

Eight Legs
Founded in 2007
Stratford-upon-Avon
Indie Pop Punk

'Blood Sweat Tears' is the song I am hoping to use for my music video. It is a favourite song of mine that I feel meets the criteria in every way. It has an obvious indie/pop/punk feel with a hint of rock as well. This genre being arguably the most popular throughout the UK at the current time makes it perfect because it is easily relatable for my target audience which is the younger UK generation and more specifiaclly, indie!

Above is the original video for the song I am going to use. I am happy about the fact that there is already a music video for this track because I can look at this and what the video is trying to show which will therefore gives me a better understanding of the song and what the message of the video should perhaps be. It also provides a challenge for me as a student. I can use the original video as a template for what needs to be done and I can potentially better it! I intend to change the content of the video drastically, although perhaps keeping the same message. I believe it would be pointless to copy the original video in any way.
